Edit hundreds of Asana tasks in a spreadsheet.
Pull a project into Google Sheets, change what you need with fill-down, formulas or find-and-replace, check the preview, and send it back to Asana. Safely.
// how it works
Three steps
1 · Pull
Pick an Asana project. Every task lands in a sheet: name, section, assignee, dates, completed, notes, tags, custom fields, and subtasks if you want them.
2 · Edit
Change cells the way you already work in a spreadsheet. Add rows for new tasks. Dropdowns and checkboxes keep values valid.
3 · Send
A preview lists every change, from → to, and flags anything Asana would reject. Only the cells you changed are sent.

Built so bulk edits don’t go wrong
Update existing tasks
Asana’s import only creates new tasks. Here you change the tasks you already have: rename, reassign, re-date, move between sections, tick off, set custom fields.
Preview first
Nothing reaches Asana until you have seen the full list of changes. Rows with a problem are listed with the reason and left out.
Never overwrite a colleague
If someone changed a task in Asana after your last refresh, your edit to that task is skipped and marked, not forced through.
Undo last send
Changed your mind? Put the old values back and remove the tasks you just created, with a preview first.
Create tasks from rows
Type a name in an empty row, pick a section and fields, and it becomes a new task in the project.
Every field
Sections, assignees, start and due dates, notes, and custom fields: text, number, single and multi-select, date and people.
Automatic refresh
Keep a sheet up to date every hour or every day for reports. Sheets with edits you haven’t sent are skipped, so nothing is lost.
Works on every Asana plan
Free, Starter, Advanced and Enterprise workspaces all work the same way.
No servers in between
It runs inside Google Sheets under your own Google account. Task data goes straight from Asana into your spreadsheet.

Your data stays with you
Spreadsheet Editor runs in Google Apps Script inside your Google account. It signs in to Asana with your own Asana permissions, so you can only see and change what you already can. Senyi Labs runs no server that sees your tasks.

Questions
Is this made by Asana?
No. Spreadsheet Editor for Asana is an independent add-on by Senyi Labs. It uses Asana’s official API and signs in with Asana’s standard sign-in.
Can it delete tasks?
Not directly. Removing a row from the sheet never deletes the task in Asana. The only deletion is “Undo last send”, which removes tasks that the same send created; they go to Asana’s trash, where they can be restored for 30 days.
What if someone changes a task in Asana while I’m editing?
Before sending, every task you edited is checked against Asana. If it changed after your last refresh, your edit to it is skipped and the row says why. Refresh, then redo that edit.
Do notes keep their formatting?
Notes you don’t touch are left alone. Notes you edit in the sheet are sent as plain text, so bold, links and lists in those notes are lost; the preview warns you.
Does it work with Excel?
No, only Google Sheets.
How big can a project be?
Large projects work. Google stops each run after a few minutes, so a very large send may need a second click on “Send”; it continues where it stopped.
